Hoyland will join the business early next year from his current role as Group Chief Executive of leading housing provider Orbit where he has been in charge since 2017.

Prior to that Hoyland was Managing Director of Balfour Beatty Engineering Services and Chief Executive at CityWest Homes. His early career was spent with Wimpey Construction.

Former Osborne Group Chief Executive Andy Steele stepped down 12 months ago with Dave Smith stepping-in as Interim Group Chief Executive since then.

Andrew Osborne, Chairman of Osborne, said: “Mark’s extensive experience, alongside his passion for the customer and commitment to the built environment, complements the Osborne vision.

“As Group Chief Executive he will lead the Group and develop our strategic focus on sustainability, energy efficient design and development.

“With Mark’s appointment, Dave Smith will step down as Interim Group Chief Executive in early 2023. Dave will continue to play an important role in our future as a member of our Group Board and I would like to thank him for his outstanding effort in leading the Group over the last year and for his ongoing commitment and support.”

Hoyland added: “I am delighted to be joining Osborne. It is a Group with a strong heritage and reputation, clear commitment to the customer and deeply embedded values.

“Osborne has a huge opportunity ahead with the ability to successfully grow each part of the Group.

“I greatly look forward to working with the team to build a sector leading business, maximising the potential for our customers, colleagues, investors and partners.”
