Contracts Manager – Residential Housebuilding

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join a leading national residential housebuilder, overseeing multiple developments and driving the successful delivery of high-quality new homes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established construction professional with a strong background in volume housebuilding, looking to take responsibility for site performance, operational delivery and the development of site management teams.

The Role
Reporting to the Construction Director, you will be responsible for overseeing several live developments, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing and supporting multiple Site Managers and Senior Site Managers across several developments.
Ensuring build programmes are achieved and construction targets are met.
Monitoring site performance, productivity, quality and health and safety standards.
Driving consistency and best practice across all developments.
Managing subcontractor performance and resolving operational issues.
Working closely with commercial, technical, sales and customer care departments.
Monitoring budgets, build costs and resource requirements.
Carrying out regular site inspections and progress reviews.
Developing and mentoring site management teams to improve performance.
Ensuring homes are delivered to the highest standards and customer expectations are met.
About You
Proven experience in a Contracts Manager or Senior Construction Management position.
Strong background within the residential housebuilding sector, ideally volume housebuilding.
Experience overseeing multiple developments and managing site-based teams.
Excellent knowledge of construction methods, build programmes and health and safety legislation.
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage budgets and resources.
A confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills.
SMSTS, CSCS and relevant construction qualifications.
