A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join one of the UK’s leading housebuilders as a Planning Manager within its high-performing Eastern Counties Division.

Reporting directly to the Land Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in identifying, promoting and securing residential development opportunities across the region. Working closely with land, technical and commercial teams, you’ll help shape planning strategy, assess risk and drive sites through the planning process from acquisition through to consent.

The Role
As Planning Manager, you will:

• Provide planning advice on residential and mixed-use development opportunities.
• Support the promotion and delivery of strategic land sites.
• Identify planning opportunities arising from emerging planning policy.
• Lead the preparation of planning appraisals and risk assessments for potential acquisitions.
• Formulate planning strategies that maximise land value and development potential.
• Manage planning applications, appeals and consultant teams.
• Negotiate with local authorities, landowners, stakeholders and communities.
• Support the negotiation of Section 106 Agreements and advise on commercial implications.
• Represent the business at Planning Committees, appeals, hearings and public consultations.
• Manage planning budgets and consultant appointments.

About You
We’re keen to speak with MRTPI or RICS qualified planners who can demonstrate:

• Experience working within a housebuilder, planning consultancy or local authority environment.
• Strong knowledge of residential planning and strategic land promotion.
• Experience managing planning applications and appeals.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to assess planning risk.
• The confidence to represent schemes at public forums and committee meetings.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under pressure.
