We are seeking a Senior Planner to join an ambitious and expanding housebuilding business, playing a key role in securing planning consents and progressing residential developments across a diverse portfolio of sites.

Working closely with Land, Technical and external consultant teams, you’ll be involved throughout the development process, from site appraisal and acquisition through to planning approval and delivery. The Role
Reporting to the Head of Planning, you will support the promotion and delivery of residential development sites, ensuring planning applications are prepared, submitted and managed effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage planning applications, including Outline, Full, Reserved Matters and Discharge of Conditions submissions.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams to support planning applications and appeals.
• Undertake planning appraisals, including planning policy reviews, housing need analysis and site constraint assessments.
• Monitor planning applications, appeal decisions and emerging Local Plans.
• Liaise with local planning authorities, planning officers and key stakeholders throughout the planning process.
• Support public consultation and community engagement activities.
• Attend project meetings, site visits and stakeholder presentations.
• Maintain planning programmes and provide updates on project progress.
• Assist in the preparation of appeal statements and planning inquiry documentation.

About You

Requirements

• RTPI-accredited degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
• MRTPI qualified or working towards chartership.
• Circa 2-5 years’ experience within a housebuilder, planning consultancy or local authority environment.
• Strong understanding of UK planning policy and development management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
