The Opportunity
As a Planner, you will support the promotion, appraisal and planning of residential developments, helping to secure planning permissions and drive projects from acquisition through to delivery.

You’ll be involved in a wide range of planning activities, gaining hands-on experience across planning applications, site appraisals, policy analysis and strategic land promotion.

Working within a collaborative and experienced team, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge while contributing to the successful growth of the regional business.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce site assessments, planning appraisals and detailed reviews of planning histories for immediate and strategic development opportunities.
• Analyse local and national planning policy, material considerations and emerging planning documents.
• Assist with the preparation and management of planning applications, including Outline, Full, Reserved Matters and condition discharge submissions.
• Prepare Planning Statements, Design & Access Statements and supporting planning documentation.
• Coordinate and brief internal design teams and external consultants throughout the planning process.
• Liaise with local planning authorities, consultees and key stakeholders before, during and after submissions.
• Support public consultation exercises and community engagement events.
• Monitor Local Plans, planning policy updates and evidence base documents across relevant local authority areas.
• Assist in the promotion of strategic land through the plan-making process.
• Contribute to planning strategies that support the region’s future development pipeline.
• Provide support to senior planning colleagues and, where appropriate, assist with wider team responsibilities.

About You
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and commercially minded planning professional who is keen to build a long-term career within residential development.

You will ideally possess:

• Previous experience within planning, either in the public or private sector.
• Experience in Development Management and/or Planning Policy.
• Degree or Master’s qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline.
• RTPI-accredited qualification desirable but not essential.
• Strong understanding of the UK planning system and development process.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Full UK driving licence.
