An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Town Planner to join a highly successful in-house planning team within a leading UK development business specialising in the delivery of large-scale residential and care-led developments.
This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional looking to gain exposure to the full development lifecycle, working on projects from site identification through to planning approval. The role offers the chance to be part of a collaborative and experienced team, with genuine opportunities for career progression and professional development.
The Role
As a Town Planner, you will take ownership of planning projects and play a key role in securing planning permissions across a varied development portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake site appraisals and assess development opportunities.
- Prepare and coordinate planning applications and supporting documentation.
- Produce high-quality planning statements, reports and supporting evidence.
- Manage planning submissions through the application process.
- Liaise with local planning authorities, statutory consultees and key stakeholders.
- Attend meetings with planning officers and external consultants.
- Negotiate planning matters and respond to consultation feedback.
- Support planning committee presentations and appeal proceedings where required.
- Monitor planning policy and legislative changes affecting development projects.
- Work closely with internal teams throughout the land acquisition, design and development process.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a town planning role.
- Experience gained within either the private sector or local authority environment.
- Relevant planning qualification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong report writing and presentation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
- Commercial awareness and a keen interest in the planning and development sector.
- Full UK driving licence.
