We Recruit Group Ltd

The Opportunity
We’re working with a privately owned, growing housebuilder entering an exciting new phase of expansion. With a strong pipeline of residential developments and plans to double in size and open new regions, they are looking to strengthen their planning team with hires from Planner through to Planning Manager level.

This is a genuine opportunity to join a family-run, agile business where your input will be valued from day one – offering far greater visibility, responsibility, and influence than typically found in a larger PLC environment.

The Role
As part of a close-knit and collaborative team, you’ll play a key role in supporting and delivering residential developments from early-stage appraisals through to planning consent and beyond.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and leading on planning applications, appeals, and site promotions
  • Undertaking planning appraisals for new land opportunities
  • Engaging with Local Plans, planning policy, and consultations
  • Liaising with local authorities, consultants, and stakeholders
  • Preparing high-quality planning reports and documentation
  • Managing projects through the planning process from inception to delivery
  • Supporting wider business objectives, including strategic growth and land acquisition
  • Town planners are heavily involved in balancing development needs with policy, stakeholders, and environmental considerations, requiring strong communication, analysis, and project coordination skills.

About You
We’re keen to speak with planners at varying levels who are looking to take the next step in their career within a growing, high-quality environment.

You will ideally have:

  • A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
  • Experience within housebuilding, consultancy, land promotion, or local authority
  • A strong understanding of the UK planning system and policy framework
  • The ability to manage projects, stakeholders, and competing priorities
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills
  • MRTPI (or working towards) is advantageous

Why Join?

  • Privately owned, family-run business (highly sought-after environment)
  • Clear pathway for career progression and development
  • Opportunity to join during a key growth phase and shape the team
  • Exposure to high-quality residential projects
  • A more hands-on, influential role compared to larger organisations
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
