A leadership opportunity for an experienced Planning Director to take a key role in shaping and growing a well‑established planning consultancy in Liverpool.

This position offers real influence — leading major planning projects, driving client relationships, and playing a central role in the strategic direction of the planning team at regional level.

You’ll combine technical credibility, commercial instinct and people leadership, working across complex development schemes while helping to grow profile, pipeline and talent in the North West.

The role

• Lead high‑value planning projects across residential, commercial and mixed‑use development
• Act as a trusted advisor to developers, landowners and professional teams
• Drive planning strategy from site promotion through to determination and appeal
• Play a visible role in business development, fee winning and client growth
• Lead, mentor and develop planners across the Liverpool team
• Represent the planning discipline in multi‑disciplinary projects and external forums

What we’re looking for

• Strong consultancy background at Associate Director or Director level
• Proven track record delivering and leading development‑led planning work
• MRTPI qualified with deep knowledge of the UK planning system
• Commercially astute, with experience winning and managing client relationships
• Confident leader with the gravitas to influence outcomes and teams
