Role: Senior or Associate CDM Consultant/ Principal Designer

Location: Central London offices (hybrid working environment – 3 days in the office per week)

We Recruit Group is excited to be partnering with a new client who is looking to grow its recently established CDM/ PD department. The service has been up and running for just under a year and the team has ambitious plans to further grow and develop this new service.

Our client is one of the UK’s largest independent property management and building consultancies. It has been established since the 1980’s and boasts 11 offices across the UK and over 800 construction professionals. They are now looking to appoint an experienced and competent Senior or Associate level CDM Consultant/ Principal Designer to their team in Central London (the team is currently made up of 2 people with a Partner leading the service).

The business oversees a range of projects across the built environment, predominantly commercial, residential, office, industrial, leisure, government, and public sector schemes throughout the country.

The role would suit a safety, risk and compliance professional who has an excellent knowledge of the 2015 CDM Regulations along with previous experience of carrying out the role of CDMA and Principal Designer within a consultancy setting. This position is fast paced and client facing and requires a dynamic individual to join the team and help make the new service a success.

Duties:

  • Successfully manage the CDM project process as Principal Designer from inception to completion.
  • Attend Design Team Meetings and offer input regarding safety in design along with overseeing the Design Risk Register and ensuring it is updated on a regular basis.
  • Familiar with all associated CDM documentation e.g construction phase plans, pre construction information packs, H&S files etc.
  • Develop a strategic view as Client CDM advisor on the design and construction of an asset and understand the clear objectives of the client brief.
  • Working with clients to ensure they are meeting their BSA obligations and you are advising and delivering practical solutions in line with the regulations.
  • Working with team members and sharing in assisting in developing less experienced members of the team as well as taking up leadership roles.

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH Construction or equivalent.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
  • NEBOSH Fire or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
  • Member to IOSH, APS, IIRSM or a similar professional body.
  • Excellent working knowledge of 2015 CDM Regulations.
  • Good knowledge of the BSA and changes affecting the industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • 3 – 5 years experience in a similar role.
