Technical Engineering Coordinator | Luxury developer | Cheshire | £55k+P

 

Summary

·        Provide engineering support at all stages of the development process, from initial advice on land bids to gaining technical consents and supporting the construction teams on site through to adoption.

·        As a small housebuilder the role offers the potential to be involved in all aspects of the business. As the sole engineer within the business there will be no direct reports, and the role will involve working closely with the Chairman, Land Director and Head of Design and Planning.

·        The successful candidate will have a housebuilding background.

 

Pre Con

·        To advise on appropriate engineering solution assumptions on new land bids, including reviewing third party information such as ground reports and service records.

·        Oversee technical due diligence on accepted land bids including instructing ground investigations.

·        Instruct external consultants to prepare foundation designs, structural drawings, levels and cut and fill designs and drainage designs for new developments.

·        Obtain points of connection consents and quotes from service providers and any necessary service diversions or disconnections.

·        Review consultants engineering drawings to add value prior to tendering on new sites.

·        Manage legal agreement process with relevant statutory bodies and solicitors such as Section 104 drainage agreements and Section 278 highway agreements.

 

Live developments

·        Assist and advise construction site teams on all engineering related matters.

·        Co-ordinate the production and distribution of key technical updates and solutions to all relevant internal and external people in support of effective management and project delivery.

·        Advise on any changes to engineering designs throughout the construction process, ensuring that the drawings issued to the site construction teams remain current and correct

·        Manage process of calling off service connections and overseeing any diversions or disconnections.

·        Manage adoption of roads and sewers with relevant statutory body or local authority. Responsible for managing NHBC bond schedule.

·        Maintain consultant fee spend trackers and carefully manage expenditure.

·        Adhere to company’s health and safety and environment policies and all other relevant company policies, procedures, and instructions.

·        Extensive experience in engineering issues gained within the housebuilding industry e.g. roads and sewers, foundations, land drainage, utilities, etc.

·        Thorough understanding of current technical and regulatory requirements

·        Ability to interpret geotechnical and environmental reports and make suitable recommendations

·        Thorough knowledge of assessment of ground conditions for foundation and sub- structure design
