A multi-discipline practice is looking to strengthen their team with the addition of a Health & Safety Consultant. The opportunity is to join either the Reading or Milton Keynes offices delivering H&S services across the UK.

My client is an independent organisation, they pride themselves on providing accurate construction advice across the built environment. The role is to work in collaboration with all departments offering a range of CDM and Principal Design services. You will especially work closely with the design team on construction, refurbishment and fit-out schemes. The successful CDM/Principal Designer will work on exciting and exclusive programmes across the retail, residential and commercial sectors.

You the successful H&S CDM/PD will be a confident and competent professional. We are looking for a motivated individual who can manage a diverse client portfolio and manage several multi-million pound schemes. The role is client facing, you will liaise with important stakeholders and will offer strong technical advice whilst spotting new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Principal Designer duties under CDM Regulations for construction/ refurbishment projects of various sizes across the UK
• Assist Designers and Clients with their duties under CDM Regulations including the principles of risk prevention
• Obtain, collate and distribute clear visual Pre-Construction H&S Information
• Attend project design team meetings and chair design risk workshops including to positively challenge and influence designers with design decisions
• Check and monitor competence of designers and contractors
• Review Construction Phase H&S Plans received from Principal Contractors
• Raise F10 notifications to the HSE on behalf of the Client
• Carry out CDM audits during the construction stage and issue reports
• Obtain, collate and distribute Health & Safety Files

Health & Safety CDM/Consultant

• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent.
• Membership to IOSH, APS, IIRSM or similar professional body (desirable).
• Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills
• Extension experience and knowledge of the CDM Regulations 2015
• Knowledge and understanding of the Building Regulations and design guidance
• Full UK driving licence
• A smart, enthusiastic and professional demeanour
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
