£40,000 – £50,000 per annum

An award winning multi-discipline practice in Cambridge is looking to grow their H&S division with the addition of a H&S/CDM Advisor.

My client is an established property and construction consultancy, they pride themselves on delivering accurate construction advice across the built environment. The practice boasts over five offices across the UK and employee over 300 professionals.

You the successful H&S/CDM Advisor will work in collaboration with other departments including building surveying, project/cost management, architecture and M&E. The opportunity is to work across a diverse client portfolio offering H&S/CDM expertise in the commercial, residential, education and healthcare sectors. Typical projects range from £300k – £20million.

The role is to support the H&S Director and lead projects solely from inception to completion. You will liaise with important stakeholders and act as a lead consultant on several multi-million pound schemes across Cambridge, Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding East Anglian area. The division is currently undertaking refurbishment schemes on luxury properties, distribution centres and private schools.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a variety of H&S services to ensure compliance on construction projects.
• Ensure that pre-construction information is readily available for each project and is kept up to date.
• Preparation of health and safety files and construction phase plans where required.
• Carry out site inspections and ensure that RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statement) are in place.
• Carry out risk assessments and site inspections for project portfolio.
• Liaise with stakeholders (architects, contractors, developers, designers, client) and keep them informed of changes regarding safety in design/ risk management.
• Spot new business opportunities through existing and new clients.

H&S/CDM Advisor

• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent.
• Membership to IOSH, APS, IIRSM or similar professional body (desirable).
• Good understanding of 2015 CDM Regulations.
• Strong technical construction knowledge
• Client facing experience
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Full UK driver’s licence and own vehicle
