Senior Engineer | Leading Housebuilder | North West | £65k+P
WRG are working with a leading Tier 1 Developer who are looking to expand one of their North West offices. The business are a highly successful, cash rich company who are one of the UK’s leading housebuilders.
As they have a strong presence in the North West, and 4x offices in the region the role can offer good progression with a view to become an Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environment
· Competently implement CDM/EMS, identifying foreseeable risk in designs and taking action to design risk out, in line with company policy.
· Discharge the Designers responsibilities under CDM regulations.
· Fully understand the CDM/EMS regulations and demonstrate a working knowledge of how these should be incorporated into designs.
· Support and advise the team to ensure CDM/EMS site start processes and site close out procedures are followed and recorded.
· Maintain a good understanding of environmental/ecological constraints to development and ensure that appropriate mitigation is undertaken to allow development to proceed in line with the Regional Programme.
· Support the Engineering team on all aspects of implementation on CDM/EMS processes and procedures.
Land and, Planning & Community Engagement
· Continue to develop site designs and provide full engineering support throughout the planning and building regulation process.
· Manage consultants in road, sewer, levels, cut and fill designs, to satisfy planning whilst maintaining the most competitive and practical solution.
· Co-ordinate and manage external consultants to resolve any engineering issues.
· Co-ordinate and manage statutory bodies such as Highway Authorities/ Road authority, Water Companies, Environment Agencies etc to resolve any engineering issues.
· Work with the project team to add value and secure the best planning consent and engineering solution for the company.
· Responsible for evaluation and appraisal of development opportunities to purchase new sites.
· Input into LEADR/ Site Specific Environmental Action Plans / CDM / Health and Safety / Environmental issues.
· Maintain fee trackers and prepare cost movement reports monthly.
· Support the Engineering team on all aspects of the Land and Planning & Community Engagement process.
· Attend internal and external team meetings as required to assist in the preparation of information for planning submission.
Ideally you will have:
· Over 3-5 years of experience with a developer or housebuilder
· A relevant degree/qualification
