Role: Senior CDM Consultant/ Principal Designer
Location: Birmingham (projects across the West Midlands)
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 + car allowance + attractive benefits package

WRG are supporting one of the UK’s leading property & construction consultancies who are looking to appoint an ambitious Senior CDM Consultant/ Principal Designer to their team in Birmingham. Our client has huge growth plans for the year ahead, they have already invested heavily within their H&S/ CDM team and now requires a competent H&S professional to join their Midlands office.
The CDM Consultant/ Principal Designer would cover a diverse portfolio of property & construction projects (commercial, residential, healthcare, education, hotel, sport, pharmaceutical, science, technology, heritage, retail, industrial) across the region.
The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary environment where they will be working alongside Building Surveyors, Project Managers and Civil Engineers to offer a range of CDM/ PD services to a portfolio of clients, the business supports Architects, Residential developers and Tier One Contractors on these projects to ensure CDM and H&S compliance.
The role would suit an ambitious CDM/ PD professional from a consultancy background who feels that their progress is currently stalled, our client has a history of excellent career progression and will offer support and training for you to achieve success.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver various H&S/ CDM services to ensure compliance on construction projects.
- Ensure that pre-construction information is readily available for each project and is kept up to date.
- Manage the design risk register and ensure that it is kept up to date.
- Chair design and client team meetings and offer advice in relation to safety in design and risk management.
- Preparation of health and safety files and construction phase plans where required.
- Carry out site inspections and ensure that RAMS are in place.
- Carry out risk assessments and site inspections for project portfolio.
- Further build and develop existing client relationships and develop new ones.
- Liaise with various stakeholders (architects, contractors, developers, designers, client) and keep them informed of changes regarding safety.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable but not required).
- Membership to IOSH, APS, IIRSM or similar professional body (desirable).
- Excellent understanding of 2015 CDM Regulations.
- Good understanding of BSA and the changes affecting the industry (desirable).
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Full UK driving license.
