Want to work remotely? WRG are proudly representing a successful and independent H&S specialist. The consultancy predominantly focus on undertaking CDM and Principal Design duties across the built environment.

The practice is going from strength to strength, due to organic growth and continued success a position has arisen for a CDM Consultant to join the team. We are looking for an experienced professional who is motivated, competent and driven in delivering accurate advice. As it stands the practice operates remotely, you will only be required to come into the City to complete responsibilities and attend meetings. The main demographic of the work will be in Cambridgeshire.

You the successful Senior CDM Consultant will lead your own schemes across various sectors including commercial, residential, industrial, retail and healthcare. You will manage an elite client portfolio which includes large blue-chip corporations, high calibre retail organisations, professional sport clubs and luxury developers. Project values range from £300k – £500 million.

Responsibilities

  • Complying with the responsibilities of the principal designer under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (“CDM 2015”).
  • Informing and assisting clients in discharging their duties at each stage of the process under CDM 2015.
  • Visiting sites and carrying out an initial appraisal to establish existing hazards and site restrictions.
  • Attendance at design team meetings, workshops, and project progress meetings.
  • Setting up the design risk register and carrying out CDM design reviews / workshops with the design team to focus on the significant design, construction, and operation and maintenance risks.
  • Assist designers to design out risk and maintain design risk register.
  • Preparation of RIBA Stage CDM / Principal Designer reports.
  • Advising and assisting clients in the appointment of designers and contractors
  • Preparation and issue of the Pre Construction Information.
  • Submission of the F10 Notification to the HSE and review of Construction Phase Plans prior to works starting on site.
  • Carrying out site inspections during the construction phase to monitor compliance.
  • Undertaking site H&S inspections and report writing.
  • Assist with the writing of risk assessments and safe systems of work for clients.
  • Assist with client annual memberships to recognized SSIP schemes.
  • Help maintain internal compliance to health and safety requirements and embed a culture of safety.

CDM Consultant/Principal Designer

  • Minimum 2 – 3 years’ post-qualification experience in the construction industry, performing the Principal Designer and/or CDM Client Advisor role under CDM 2015
  • NEBOSH General & Construction Certification
  • Technical member (or higher) IOSH
  • Ideally come from design and consultancy background
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in the management and administration of activities pursuant to the CDM 2015 Regulations.
  • Excellent oral, written and numeracy skills
  • Proficient in the use of IT including Microsoft software, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Full UK driver’s license
