An award winning multi-discipline practice in South East London is looking to grow their team with the addition of a Senior CDM/Principal Designer.

You the successful Senior CDM/Principal Designer will undertake schemes across London and the surrounding home counties. You will manage an expressive client portfolio including financial institutions, developers, blue chip corporations and high net worth individuals.  will involve working on a number of projects across public and private sectors on a mixture of new build, refurbishment, tall building remediation, and maintenance schemes.

Responsibilities

• Fulfil the duties of the Principal Designer as defined under CDM 2015 including where necessary carrying out the role of CDM-Advisor to support the client.
• Planning, managing, monitoring and coordinating pre-construction phases of projects to identify, eliminate, or control significant and foreseeable risks relating to construction, maintenance, cleaning and using the building as a workplace.
• Managing multiple projects for key clients to the business particularly focused on the high-rise residential refurbishment, development and commercial sector.
• Attend client meetings and carry out H&S site inspections. Deliver high quality reports to clients within agreed deadlines.
• Provide clear, concise, and practical Health and Safety advice, guidance and coaching to project teams throughout all stages of the project.
• Responsible for collating, preparing and issuing Health & Safety Files to the client.

CDM Consultant/Principal Designer

• You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction industry with experience of CDM/Health and Safety issues in construction.
• You have excellent working knowledge and understanding of CDM 2015 and appropriate legislation.
• You have demonstrable previous experience in successfully delivering the Principal Designer and CDM Advisor roles in the residential refurbishment, development, and commercial sector.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• You ideally hold a NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
• You ideally are an incorporated member of the Association for Project Safety (IMaPs).
• Full UK driver’s licence
