My client are a leading SME property development partner, in the leading Supported Living and Residential Development company based in the East Midlands. They are committed to developing suitable, long term, secure housing solutions for those in need of Supported Living, working closely with Care Providers around the Midlands.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented and creative Architectural Designer to join our design team. A successful candidate will be expected to have achieved RIBA Part 2 accreditation or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience in industry.

As an Architectural Designer, you will play a key role in the conceptualisation, design development, and implementation of our residential projects across the East Midlands from, but not limited to, RIBA stages 0-4.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong proficiency in producing effective planning applications, coupled with a deep understanding of planning policies and regulatory frameworks. Additionally, candidates who have demonstrated further expertise in navigating projects from initial planning phases to tender and technical design stages (stages 3-5) will be prioritised.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Applicants will be expected to coordinate & collaborate closely with the rest of the design team, local planning authorities, building control, specialist consultants and the wider company departments.

·        Produce detailed architectural drawings, including plans, elevations, 3D visuals, sections, and construction details (utilising AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and Lumion), and support these design packages with supplementary information such as Design and Access Statements and further relevant reports.

·        Conduct site visits and surveys to assess existing conditions and inform design decisions.

·        Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and project presentations to foster collaboration and communication.

Qualifications:

·        Accredited RIBA Part 2 or above, or equivalent professional qualifications (BArch or MArch Architecture / Architectural Technology BSc. Etc)

·        Minimum of 3 years of experience in architectural design, preferably with a focus on RIBA Stages 0-3. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Lumion,  Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft suite, Teams and other design software.

·        Strong design sensibility and creative problem-solving skills.

·        Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

·        Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

·        Knowledge of planning policies, building regulations and construction practices.
