A leading construction firm is looking to grow with the addition of a Building Control Surveyor. The Essex based organisation is looking for a competent and professional individual to join the team.

The organisation prides themselves on delivering accurate construction advice across multiple sectors including commercial, retail and leisure. You the successful Building Control Surveyor will work on several projects in Essex and the surrounding home counties. You will be tasked with providing high level expertise and administer the Building Regulations meeting the obligations under Section 91of the Building Act 1984.

The department has recently gone from strength to strength and due to the continued organic growth an opportunity in the team has arisen. The successful Building Control Surveyor will report into the Director supporting them on several long term schemes. You will liaise with important stakeholders and spot new business opportunities. This is an ideal opportunity for a professional who is looking to make that next step in their career to progress into full Directorship.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site inspections and testing of building works for compliance with building regulations and associated legislations.
• Prepare and provide customer quotations
• Liaise and correspond with applicants, agents, consultants or statutory bodies and members of the public.
• Examination of plans and other associated matters for compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation.
• Prepare formal schedules of comments and observations and ensure effective follow up and implementation of actions highlighted as part of the inspection process.

Building Control Surveyor

• BSc in Building Control or Building Surveying
• Qualified MRICS, MCABE or MCIOB
• Five years minimum experience working in Building Control
• Comprehensive knowledge and application of Building Regulations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Full UK drivers licence
