The Buyer will play a critical role in the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services necessary for our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing within the construction industry, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.

Key responsibilities:

• Create & build positive and effective relationships with new and existing supply chain.

• Procurement of materials, plant & equipment across a number of projects.

• Ensure orders are distributed and approved by relevant personnel.

• Place orders with suitable suppliers for specified materials.

• Send out enquiries for materials, collate and analyse quotations.

• Advise Surveyors costs for budgetary purposes.

• Support the site management team with call offs as well as plant, prelim, and supplementary material ordering.

• Ensure quality and performance of materials fall in line with acceptable standards.

• To purchase where appropriate in accordance with Group purchase deals.

• Maintain a positive working relationship with the Finance team to provide support on any order related queries.

• Resolve any discrepancies that may arise between orders, goods received and invoices.
