Already a CBE, Robertson has been knighted for services to the construction industry and to charity in Scotland.
He formed Robertson Group in Elgin in 1966 as a joinery business, with his brother Bobby. The family business now operates across the UK employing over 3,000 people generating revenue of over £800m.
He said: “I am thrilled, but deeply humbled and honoured, to be included in the 2023 New Year Honours List.
“This recognition is beyond anything I could have imagined when I founded, what has become, Robertson Group in my hometown of Elgin.
“I am proud that we retain a strong presence there and continue to play an active role in the local business community.”
