Design Coordinator | Main Contractor | South Yorkshire | £55k+P

The role will be responsible for the management of design related issues for both preconstruction and the construction stages of individual projects. The function requires experience in the coordination of detailed design and managing the design appraisal review process for projects in delivery. The candidate needs to be experienced in managing the design process, identifying design solutions, design risk and opportunities to support the business in delivering existing pipeline and securing new work.

You will need:

·        Experience working within a construction design and build environment

·        Good communications with internal/external designers and contractors

·        Ability to add value/value engineering

·        Ability to provide alternative and modern methods of construction practices for comparison and consideration

·        Close working relationships with the Commercial and Operations team

·        Assisting with the procurement of sub-contract packages to include adjudication of tender queries and clarification of documents

·        Building regulation compliance knowledge

·        Good organisational skills with the ability and motivation to prioritise workload to meet demand

·        Chair design team meetings

·        Collating and submitting BREEAM information in a timely manner

·        Manage design document control

In return:

·        up to £55,000 plus car allowance

·        25 days, plus statutory holidays per annum
