A senior opportunity for an experienced Transport Planner ready to lead projects, grow client relationships and help shape a thriving Sheffield-based consultancy team.

This role blends technical authority, commercial responsibility and leadership, with the freedom to influence how transport planning is delivered across complex development projects.

What you’ll do

• Lead the delivery of transport planning projects, from strategy through to approvals
• Provide senior technical oversight and sign-off on Transport Assessments, Statements, Travel Plans and access strategies
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, planners and highway authorities
• Manage project budgets, programmes and resourcing to ensure strong commercial outcomes
• Play an active role in winning work, developing fee proposals and growing key client accounts
• Mentor and develop team members, setting standards for quality and consistency
• Represent the transport planning discipline within multi-disciplinary project teams

What you’ll bring

• Strong consultancy background in transport planning, with leadership experience
• Proven ability to manage and deliver complex development-led projects
• Confidence dealing with clients, local authorities and statutory consultees
• Commercial awareness, with experience of fees, bids and workload management
• Clear, decisive communication and a pragmatic approach to problem solving
• Relevant degree in transport planning, engineering or a related discipline
• Professional accreditation (or working toward) such as CIHT / TPS / ICE
