Urban Designer | Developer | Manchester | Up to £50k +P

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Collaborate with Land and Technical teams to produce efficient site layouts that maximise the use of standard house types.

·        Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications, including negotiations with Local Authorities to secure approvals.

·        Appoint, coordinate, and oversee external consultants such as architects and engineers to deliver technical drawings and supporting reports.

·        Ensure all developments meet design standards, LPA policies and Building Regulations.

·        Coordinate with Planning, Engineering, Commercial, and Construction teams to ensure cohesive design delivery.

·        Provide ongoing technical support to Construction, Commercial, and Sales teams as required.

·        Work with project teams to monitor and update fee budgets and development viability assessments.

·        Participate in design and technical meetings, offering professional guidance and technical expertise.

·        Collaborate with the Commercial team to refine designs that achieve cost efficiency while maintaining quality and design integrity.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

·        Sound experience of Private Housebuilding Sector in relation to feasibility design

·        Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, digital design tools and current industry trends.

·        Proven experience of Local Authority and Highways requirements and capable of interpreting these into innovative design concepts

·        Ability to think critically and resolve complex design and technical challenges under pressure.

·        Proactive in promoting creative thinking and introducing new ideas and solutions.

·        Ability to work to deadlines

·        Good CAD and visualisation skills

·        High level of accuracy and diligence when reviewing designs and technical information.

·        Strong communication skills
