Job Specification

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Senior/Principal Urban Designer

to join our growing team, based at our Nottingham office. The successful candidate will work

on residential projects producing detailed planning layouts and supporting plans/information.

In doing so you will receive support in developing your layout design and masterplanning

skills, working closely with senior members of the team. The successful candidate should have

good technical skills and knowledge of building regulations, specifically regarding residential

uses. The successful candidate should also have the ability to work collaboratively with clients

and other professional contacts.

 

Key responsibilities of the role include:

·        Preparation of detailed site layouts in CAD, with reference to relevant local and national design guidance for Full or Reserved Matters planning applications.

·        Preparation of supporting plans (materials / boundary treatment plans etc Preparation of concept layouts in CAD for site promotion and outline planning applications.

·        Contribute to the preparation of Design and Access Statements in support of applications.

 

Essential skills and experience for the role include:

·        Degree level qualification in Architecture or Urban Design.

·        A minimum of three years post-qualification experience, preferably with a housebuilder.

·        Competent user of CAD; ideally AutoCAD and Vectorworks (training can be provided in the latter)

·        Working knowledge of UK building regulations.

·        Experience of day to day project management.

·        Enthusiasm and pride in the product that we produce.

·        An ability to work with minimal supervision and to work under own initiative.

·        A strong team-working capability.

·        Effective time and resource management.

·        The holding of a full UK driving licence.

 

In return:

·        Up to 60,000

·        Bonus up to 20%
