WRG are excited to be once again supporting a leading provider of logistics and supply chain solutions. Our client is dedicated to delivering excellence in service and safety across their sites across the Midlands. They are looking to appoint a proactive and dedicated Health & Safety Advisor to join an established team (currently 5 members) and help ensure a safe working environment for employees across a 50 acre warehousing and distribution site based close to Crewe.

As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for promoting a safety-conscious culture, ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, and advising on best practices to minimise risks across their distribution network.

The role would suit an ambitious H&S professional who is looking to join a business that highly values safety and their employee welfare, this would be a hands on role where you will engage with the wider team to ensure safety and compliance is maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures in line with current legislation and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend improvements.
  • Provide guidance and support to management and staff on all health and safety matters.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all operational activities.
  • Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented.
  • Deliver health and safety training sessions to employees and ensure safety inductions for new staff and contractors.
  • Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities, including risk assessments, audits, and incident reports.
  • Work closely with management to promote a safety-first culture and improve health and safety performance across the business.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, legal changes, and developments in health and safety practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) in Health & Safety.
  • Previous experience in a similar health and safety role, ideally within the logistics, warehousing, or distribution sectors (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Experience of developing key health and safety assessments, e.g. PUWER, COSHH, Manual handling etc.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and delivering safety training (desirable).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations and make decisions under pressure.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
