Our client are a leading housing developer in London. Due to a strong pipeline of projects they require a Senior Technical Manager to assist with 3 projects.

 

Job Purpose

The Senior Technical Manager will lead, motivate and manage the in-house Technical Team and be a lead member of the senior project management team. They will be responsible for ensuring the translation of planning schemes into fully working commercial solutions in accordance with the development budget, delivery programme and the Company policies and procedures.

 

Key Responsibilities

·        Facilitate the requirements of the Technical Director/ Head of Technical/Senior Technical Lead.

·        Keep the Technical Director/ Head of Technical/Senior Technical Lead appraised of key issues.

·        Liaise effectively with other members of the senior project management team.

·        Ensure compliance with the CDM Regulations.

·        Lead on consultant tendering and procurement ensuring that appointments are made in good time and within budget.

·        Monitor the performance project design teams in terms of delivery against programme and quality of information.

·        Monitor fee expenditure against appointment values and budgets ensuring that invoices are processed in a timely manner.

·        Ensure 38/ 104/ 278 Agreements, Party Wall Awards, Licences, Wayleaves, Easements and substation leases are processed in a timely manner.

·        Manage skills and resources ensuring at all times that projects are properly resourced.

·        Ensure all projects are being managed effectively by the Technical Managers.

·        Ensure that all information is delivered to other Departments to suit their programme requirements.

·        Ensure Building Regulations, Building Warranty and Planning Conditions are discharged in a timely manner.

·        Ensure the motivation and development of the Technical Team, including mentoring, coaching and talent management.

·        Resolve day-to day issues and where appropriate liaise with Technical Director/ Head of Technical/Senior Technical Lead.

·        Maintain awareness of industry issues including regulatory changes, product development and research reports.

 

Specific Requirements

·        Minimum of 10 years’ experience in design procurement/management.

·        Educated to degree level or similar.

·        Working knowledge of Building Regulations and current legislation relating to residential /commercial development.

·        Computer literate.

·        Professional approach with a high level of discretion and emotional intelligence.

·        Effective communicator with ability to build strong relationships.

·        Excellent organisational skills with ability to work under pressure and multi task.

·        Keen eye for detail with analytical approach to problem solving.

·        Focuses attention on the product, buildability of design and challenges expensive cost solutions.

·        Strong motivator with ‘can do’ attitude driven to achieve personal and team targets.

·        Team player, willing to learn and get involved with a wide range of tasks.

·        Facilitates training and develops people and morale.

·        Ability to influence others.
